Caw Caw Interpretive Center - Mini

Caw Caw is a 660-acre park that boasts multiple ecosystems within our small footprint.  There is swamp, upland forest, bottomland hardwood forest, historic rice fields, salt marsh, and even naturalized tea bushes mixed in.  Animals thrive in these convergence zones.  Depending on the time of the year, it is not uncommon to see alligators, nesting eagles, bobcats, otter, turkey, deer, and a local favorite – the painted bunting!  As the seasons change, so do the animal visitors, which is a great reason to visit often! 

The Kids in Parks TRACK Trail starts near kiosk 5 along the Rice Fields Trail – stop in at the visitor center if you would like help finding it.  This is one of our most popular trails in the park where you will see the remains of old rice fields which are now a choice habitat for alligators and wading birds.  Dragonflies proliferate in abundance and so do the things that like to eat them!  With almost 7 miles of looping maintained trail, there are endless opportunities to customize your adventure.  Come check out the Caw Caw Interpretive Center with the whole family!
