Cherry Blossom Trail

The Cherry Blossom TRACK Trail is a 1.7-mlle one-way stroll where visitors can experience the natural beauty and wildlife of Botetourt County. This trail is eight feet wide, made of an ADA-accessible stone surface, and part of the Greenfield Trail System. The trail follows a small stream that flows into Greenfield Lake and ends where it intersects the Greenfield Recreation Trail. The trail is open for foot traffic and bicycles (no motorized vehicles or horses are permitted). Continue onto this 3.1-mile trail around the Greenfield Recreation Park for a longer adventure. The trailhead is home to the Botetourt Beekeepers Association Honeybee Sanctuary and the Historic Greenfield Preservation Area.

During your journey on the trail, you will be greeted by foliage, a pond, and a wide variety of wildlife - such as deer, rabbits, squirrels, geese, and birds native to Southwest Virginia, including our state bird, the beautiful cardinal! During the spring, our cherry blossom trees show off, providing a canopy of white and light pink blooms that have those visiting feel like they are in a fairytale. There are picnic tables and benches scattered along the trail that invite you to stop, have a picnic, and sit a spell as you take in the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
