Oconee Station State Historic Site

This TRACK Trail site was hit by Hurricane Helene. The park is open, but there still may be downed trees and debris limiting trail use. Please use caution when visiting.

Hike through history at the Oconee Station State Historic Site TRACK Trail! The TRACK Trail a starts off on the Oconee Station Trail and connects to the Station Cove Trail. Along the Oconee Station Trail, adventurers start off by the historic stone blockhouses and meander through the woods, enjoying wildflower blooms in the spring, lush forest, and the park pond. Families can then cross over the road and get on the Station Cove Falls trail in Sumter National Forest. This section of the trail is beautiful Appalachian cove forest leading to the flowing 60-foot waterfall. Be on the lookout for all the wildflowers along the trails. You may see trillium, mayapple, pink lady’s slipper orchids, bloodroot, and redbud. 

Enjoy the combination of history and nature at Oconee Station State Historic Site. Visitors can hike, learn about the history of the trading post, fish in the park pond, bird watch for a wide range of species, and so much more.
