National TRACK Trails Day 2024

by Meghan McDevitt, July 15, 2024

It's that time of year again! National TRACK Trails Day is right around the corner. And like last year, we have much to celebrate in our public lands and other outdoor spaces. We've opened 26 new TRACK Trails in six different states and will surpass our 300th TRACK Trail on National TRACK Trails Day! Every day our Trail TRACKers and partners help build stronger connections between children and parks. To celebrate, we're excited to announce our 6th annual National TRACK Trails Day!

1. Celebrate With Us

National TRACK Trails Day is a time to celebrate kids getting outdoors through TRACK Trails and other outdoor agencies. Whether you hike, bike, paddle, or play disc golf with us, National TRACK Trails Day is a day to enjoy your favorite Kids in Parks location!

2. Find an Adventure

Take part in National TRACK Trails Day by visiting a TRACK Trail, attending an event hosted by a park or recreational space, or playing an e-Adventure wherever you like to explore! Keep a close eye on our Facebook page for any promoted events.

3. TRACK Your Adventure

Register your hikes during the weekend of August 16-18 for a special National TRACK Trails Day sticker and digital badge! You can also share how you're celebrating National TRACK Trails Day with us on Instagram and Facebook by using the hashtags: #NationalTRACKTrailsDay and #TRACKtheTrails.

300th TRACK Trail Opening

South Carolina TRACK Trail Opening

So far this year, we've opened 27 new TRACK Trails - 17 hiking sites, seven TRACK Trail Minis, and two disc golf courses. These sites range from neighborhood parks to a national wildlife refuge and represent six different states. With 41 other TRACK Trails in the works, we are about to surpass 300 TRACK Trails across the country! To celebrate this achievement, there will be several TRACK Trail openings on National TRACK Trails Day so we reach this goal together. These sites include: Cherry Blossom Trail in Virginia, Craggy Gardens Mini in North Carolina, Rosebrock Park in South Carolina, and the possibility for more. We will be adding all openings and other National TRACK Trails events to our Facebook Events page. Make sure to stay up to date on Facebook and follow us for all Kids in Parks news!

Keep up with our Events on Facebook

We want to extend a big thank you to all our partners and participants who made this milestone possible. We hope you can get out and enjoy a TRACK Trail on National Track Trails Day! If you're a partner and want to host an event, please fill out this form.
